Lori Berisford Named Citizen of the Year

Lori Berisford and Elaine Cox citizen of the year Ridgefield

We are happy to announce that Lori Berisford, SPHERE President and Chairman of the Board has been named 2021 Ridgefield Citizen of the Year. The Rotary Club of Ridgefield has announced that Lori and Elaine Cox have been named 2021 Citizens of the Year! “The criteria for this award has been met many times over by this team,” Rich Vazzana, Rotary member remarks.

There is not a nonprofit in town that Lori and Elaine have not touched in some way. Both of these philanthropic ladies have received Ridgefield’s The Spirit of Dr. King Community Service Awards. Ridgefield is a better place due to Lori and Elaine’s service and commitment to the community.

Lori Berisford is the President & Board Chair of SPHERE; BOD and Nominating Chair of The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury; BOD Founders Hall; BOD of Ridgefield Symphony Orchestra; Committee Chair at RVNAhealth; Ability Beyond; The Ridgefield Playhouse; Sunrise Cottage; Kids in Crisis; and is Co-Chair of the Parent Leadership Council at Fairfield University. Lori participates in the Evelyn C Peeler Children’s Holiday Program and is Past President of Ridgefield Academy Parents Association and Board of Trustee Member. Lori was named one of Ridgefield’s Top 25 by Ridgefield Magazine.

Elaine Cox is a member of the BOD at The Women’s Center of Greater Danbury where she serves as Vice-Chair and Development Committee Chair. She is Committee Chair at RVNAhealth; Kids in Crisis, Ability Beyond; The Hord Foundation; The Ridgefield Playhouse;  Sunrise Cottage. Elaine participates in the Evelyn C Peeler Children’s Holiday Program and was a member of Ridgefield Academy Parent Association. She and her husband, Kevin were recipients of Ability Beyond’s Robert S Young Humanitarian Award.
