With thanks to Carolyn…

The 2014 SPHERE Art Show took place Thursday evening at the Jesse Lee Methodist Church. The art on the walls matched the energy in the air; colorful, varied and full of talent. The Great Gatsby themed stained glass watercolors, the canvases with melting sunsets over the sea and witty collages of a hatted flapper gal in profile provided an electric source of visual candy that was truly delicious.

It was also the night Art SPHERE said so long for now to Carolyn Dahar, the petite lady with the sparkly blue eyes who for years has been the power and inspiration behind summers of artistic creation. Towards the end of the evening members surrounded Carolyn – Diane S. spoke of the group’s gratitude for all Carolyn has taught them about art. Cindy E. and Cindy M. gave her a shopping bag full of goodies. And hugs and good wishes spread throughout the hall. And of course lots of laughter – one of the hallmarks of the art classes with Carolyn was humor. Humor and art – the best mixed media of all.

Good Luck Carolyn. You have left your painter’s brush full of love all over Sphere’s mighty art heart.
